Also on Paradise Island, though more obscure is the Cloisters, a medieval
european cloister brought over stone by stone (via a short spell in California) and transplanted to the Bahamas. It is quite beautiful and the juxtaposition of the old european stone structure against the Caribbean sea, sky and surf is breathtaking. You can do a ship excursion or just grab a cab or water taxi and take the tour that way. Its also nice shopping in town if you have any extra time. Last time I walked from the dock to Paradise Island. Met some interesting folks at a marina along the way, and at the marina on Paradise Island. -- Charles
