Default Help plan 2 full days in Paris w/ kids

This summer, I am taking my family to Athens for the Olympics. At the
end of our trip, I am going to surprise my wife with a side trip to
Paris. We will only have 3 nights and 2 full days in Paris, and I'm
looking for some hints and tricks so that we can get the most out of out
short stay. Of course, we will want to see the usual sights (Eiffel
Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, etc.) but at the same time I
don't want to push my 2 kids (ages 5 yrs and 9 mo.) to hard. I'm
looking for some advice, and any will be of help.

The kids are too small for Disneyland, IMO. We first took our daughter
when she was 4 and she loved riding on the Metro, but was quickly
exhausted at Disneyland. A boat trip? Montmarte?

The Paris zoo, with its unusual features such as the Rocher (250 ft.
man-made "mountain" for mountain goats and the like, with an elevator
to the top) would be a good choice.

And nearby "Jardin des Plantes" for a rest with also nearby
"Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle" to visit - the
"Grande Galerie de l'Evolution" is a modern exhibition
with several impressive setups that could probably also
be interesting for a 5y old. Some additional info at

Alternative way to discover Paris without having to walk
are canal cruises (recommended in posting "Going to Paris
Apr 13"), especially half day tour on Canal St-Martin.
For details see http://www.pariscanal.com/indexgb.htm

Enjoy your trip!
