Cleveland, Ohio - CLE - best parking?

Long term parking on airport property was $9 per day, the last time I used it, but it can be a bit of a walk to the terminal. There are moving sidewalks to help things along. If you drive to higher levels in the parking garage, you can typically get closer to the elevators, which shortens the walking distance. You get to the long term parking area by making a left at the first light as you enter the airport, then turning left into the parking garage a few hundred feet later. A good alternative is the parking lot at the Sheraton hotel. It is the same price, and they have shuttle vans that pick you up close to your car and take you to the airport. This is where I normally park. I find it faster, as the vans run frequently, and it is much easier if you have a lot of luggage, since you don't have to walk any distance. Assuming you are coming from the north of the airport, you get to their lot by making a left at the first light as you enter the airport, and turning left into their lot immediately after the hotel building, just before the entrance to the airport's own long term lot. If you will be away for an extended period, off airport parking can be found on Snow Road, about a mile from the airport terminal. Some offer free carwashes and newspapers as enticements. Rates can be more than on-airport parking, but you can often find coupons on the web that make them competitive. You have to allow about 15 minutes extra to get to and from the terminal before and after your flights. Here is an example: http://www.longtermparking.com/COUPONS/cpparkaircle.htm If you plan on staying at a nearby hotel before your flight, some of them offer free parking while you are away on your trip as part of their packages. You then use the hotel's shuttle to and from the airport. The Econolodge west of the airport is an example, where they have $59 room packages that allow you to leave your car in their lot while you are away. They don't mention any time limit. |
