Travelling to Montreal with the Family

Hi Everybody:

We (family with 2 children, 8yrs and 1yr) will be going to Montreal in
August. Our plans are to stay in Montreal for one week and then to move
outside Montreal (not too far away) to stay "somewhere in the nature"
for 2 more weeks.

May be some of you can provide some hints or recommendations:

Staying in Montreal:
- We look for an inexpensive place to stay with the family like a 1-room
appartement or a hostel with kitchen facilities. Can anybody recommend
something or recommend any web-site to look at?

Outside Montreal:
- We would like to stay somewhere were a "family program" is offered:
Like working on a farm (or helping to work), possibly horse riding, or
anything else, whatever. It would help us a lot if there was some kind
of animation for the children or any activities which are offered and we
can just select.
Just in case you have anything in mind or have heard of anything (keep
in mind the price :-) ).

The Laurentians might be a nice place for outside the City. Perhaps
Ste-Adèle or St-Agathe? As for a "resort" type environment (gold, swimming,
etc., check Mont-Tremblant (www.tremblant.ca).
