Heh, proprietor of one of my favorite Spanish cafe's was only a
generation or two removed from the old country and he made flour
tortilla's.

Thats Mexican. If they think a tortilla is made from flour, your
in the wrong place!

More like Tex-Mex.

Sure, Mexican, Tex-Mex, Hispanic, Latino, whatever. Just not
Spanish.

Well, I'm English and I make Curry. What's your point?

IIRC (and as they say, one of my best friends is Spanish) in Spain a
tortilla is a dish made with eggs.

lets add a recipe for full overkill, you never know it might sink
in :-)

And from the dictionary:-

tortilla
(in Spanish cookery) a thick
omelette containing potato
and other vegetables,
typically served cut into
wedges.

(in Mexican cookery) a
thin, flat maize pancake, eaten
hot or cold, typically with a
savoury filling.

ORIGIN Spanish, diminutive of torta ‘cake’.
