Default Spectator sail racing

Some years back I saw some films featuring 18-foot dinghys. They were
light, massively canvassed and sailed by *really* coordinated guys.
I'm pretty sure there was a long tradition, so I hope that sport is
still active.

Now I'm starting to plan a visit to Sidney for next southern summer.
When is the racing season for the fastest and best fleet accessible to
spectators? How can I see an outing?

This is the website you need:
http://www.18footers.com.au/AF/

The racing season in SYDNEY is September - April: race dates for the
2006/2007 season will be posted later in the year.
The webpage above gives details of where to catch the spectator ferry
for the races.

By the way, these boats are usually called "skiffs". The word "dinghy"
in Australia usually associated with a small training type boat - for
rowing or sailing.
