There are so many possbilities that you need to give us some hints as
to your interests and budget. Among the possibilities a

- Beach activities such as swimming and snorkelling
- Scuba diving
- Wind surfing
- Native 'dhow' trips
- Dolphin excursions
- Visit to Prison Island
- Visit to Spice Gardens
- Visit to Mangapwani Slave Caves (and a nice seafood lunch by Serena)
- Old Anglican Cathereral is a must - www/safari.cc/znz.html
- House of Wonders, Old Arab Fort
- Forodhani Park (especially at night when the food vendors are out)
- Antique shopping
- Art shopping
- The remote quite of the Chumbe Island Coral Park
- The opulant exclusivity of Mnemba Island

Zanzibar has something for everyone.

Gary,
I wish I was going again! You have reminded me of all the wonders of
Zanzibar. For anyone who IS lucky enough to go, don`t miss the coconut
seafood dish at the Serena.
For me for the moment I shall just have to look at the photos and
postcards.
Kwaheri for now.

Gillian

I am sooo envious - we went in 2001, and there really were too many great
things to see and do...

It really depends on what your interests are -
Cultural (Fishing, spice farms)
Historical (slave trade, religions)
Beach and Snorkelling (East coast)
Wildlife (Dolphins, red colobus monkeys...)

If you can focus in a bit, I'll tell you more!!

Some of our photos are at -
http://www.tomalin.org/bedford/africa/index.htm

Mail me direct if you want specifics (My access to newsgroups is sporadic to
say the least. Today's a good day!)
Take out the nospamspam bit...

Also, David Else's book 'Zanzibar' is a good buy, if you can find it.

Cheers
