Whale watching NZ

Could someone tell me what is the best time of the year (number of whales)
for whale watching in New Zealand. I assume that the area around Kaikoura is
the best place.

Seeing as whales are generally migratory I would have thought that some
months of the year there are more than in other months. Here in Western
Australia they migrate along the coast (southwards) during
September-November.
I was wondering which months you could see most whales.

Nope. They are not migratory there. They explain it to you - there is a
chasm in the ocean and a deep cliff underwater and a constant current
upwards which brings up krill

Both of these sides repeat what I said: that you can see them all year
round.

Yoy may well be able to see them all year round, but I don't know who
provides the gaurantee you claim exists. It is quite possible to go on a
whale watching trip and not see any, but there are no refunds or credits.

My apologies - I see one outfit now offers a refund of up to 80% if your
particular expedition doesn't sight a whale.
