How much time needed to get to Rome airport from Civitavecchia Port

Will be taking Celebrity Galaxy Eastern Mediterranean Cruise in Sept
06 and will soon be booking FF flights. Plan on using private driver
service from port of Civitavecchia to Rome airport. Ship arrives in
port at 7:00 AM on a Friday morning. When can I anticpate being off
the ship? How long to get to airport? What is earliest flight I can
expect to safely make?

It is Italy what can go wrong will go wrong, unless you are prepared for
that eventuallity.Don't plan on being off of the ship before 9:30 or so
plan on an hour to get to the airport, allow 2 hours to get through
various security checkpoints (they really do take a lot of time in
Europe) I wouldn't try for same day at all as FF flights are often on
the less popular routes like early morning departures. Why not relax
with a day or two in Rome and fly out without worry?

We had a car to take us to the airport from Civityavecchia. It was an
easy ride and took less than an hour. We easily made an 11:30 flight.
We were cruising on Crystal and, in our experience, disembarkation has
always been prompt. If you can't count on getting off your ship
promptly you could have a problem.
