Insurance for travelling

Hi guys,

I'm travelling to Oz in March 04 and am looking at getting my insurance
sorted just now. Does anyone have recommendations of cheap but adequate
insurance?

Take your pick - you can have cheap, or adequate. Not both. If you're
covered by UK health insurance, you're covered for the basics in Australia
under a reciprocal agreement - but not stuff like medical evacuation, drugs
(?), etc.

For the top-ups, you'll pay top dollar, especially things that cover "high
risk" stuff like diving, hiking (yes, some companies consider that high
risk), and so on. Frankly, I'd rather be uninsured and know I'm taking that
risk than *Think* I'm covered and then have the jerk-around if there's a
claim.

If you don't like that thought process, at least avoid WorldCare.

When asking these kinds of questions, please mention your country of
origin. You don't want people to think you are a seppo, do you? :-) [1]
