Lake Eyre gets a trickle
The Diamantina River system has finally put some water into Lake Eyre North,
the bird life has gone wild by all accounts. The Cooper Creek system is still not expected to reach the Lake. ABC Radio National has a description from a young woman describing watching a dry Diamantina river bed turning into a flowing river. http://www.abc.net.au/rural/telegraph/today.htm if you listen to the Thursday edition when it becomes available on the net. -- www.bribieisland4x4hire.com VW Kombi Camper Buy Backs Landcruiser Troopy - Toyota Hilux Crew Cab Mitsubishi Pajero - Landrover V8 Swag Camper |

Lake Eyre gets a trickle
Hey Hey - Your right, the Cooper has a long way to get to the lake,
however sat imagery shows the warburton groove swollen and water starting to cover the lake surface. The current cyclone activity off QLD may be promising. Of interest is the question - How full? I have seen the record floodings of 72, 89 and 90/91. I've also seen partial floodings and I have seen the lake dry. I love it in all conditions. Go to http://www.diamantina-tour.com.au to see more about wild parts of the lake Cheers Andrew |
