Jean -- that just might be the ticket for the original poster....NCL is very
flexible in that regard, and openly encourage folks to take advantage of that
flexibility. There are choices out there for us all, and thanks for sharing
your experience and observations!

Jeff

Tom, I agree with all the above except that they do have formal nights in
the dining room on NCL if you wish to participate. If you don't, you can go
smart casual to the buffet area where they have set up tables with
tablecloths and crystal and have the same menu as the main dining room. At
least this was the way it was on the 15 day Norwegian Crown that we took to
South America last November...

You're welcome, Jeff...That is one of the things I like about NCL...It was
the first and only cruise that we did not attend the formal nights...We were
gone 17 days total and we just didn't want to pack formal wear...They did
not have a self service laundry on the NCL Crown so we packed for that
amount of days...and it was nice not worrying about formal attire....All
smart casual and Ed especially liked that!

I am getting a vibe that you don't get it.

They expect you to dress as requested, as they consider appropriate,
-----not dress as you consider appropriate.
