BANGKOK, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Two blasts went off early Thursday
morning at the anti-government rally site in Bangkok, capital cityof
Thailand, leaving at least one dead and ten others injured.

According to local media, the bomb was thrown at around 03:00 a.m.
local time from outside the gathering of members of the People's
Alliance for Democracy (PAD), who have been staging anti-government
protests since May 25 at Makkhawan Rangsan bridge near the Government
House. The blast injured about ten PAD guards and supporters. Two were
reportedly in a critical condition.

After the explosion, the PAD guards stepped up security at the
site and were planning to ask the PAD core members to permanently
close down Ratchadamnoen road for the safety of the protesters.

About an hour after the bomb attack, a few gun shots were heard
near the Government House.

On Thursday morning, a 46-year-old man was found dead at the back
of the Metropolitan Police Bureau.

The Commander of the Metropolitan Police's Division One Anan
Srihiran said the police were investigating whether the man, who was
shot in the back of the head, was from the anti-government rally led
by the People's Alliance for Democracy at Government House.

After inspection, the police said that the victim was intoxicated,
and there were loud quarrels and about three to four gunshots prior to
the incident.

The police continued to collect evidence at the crime scene to
identify the gunman.

At about midnight on Wednesday, a bomb was lobbed into the
compound of the house of Constitution Court judge Jaral
Phakdeethanakul, causing some damages.

No one was injured in the attack, the police said, adding that the
explosion caused a 50-cm-wide and 25-cm-deep hole in the lawn and
shattered some window glasses as well as damaging an air-condition
unit.

Jaral was quoted by the Nation, a local newspaper as saying that
he heard something falling on the roof and heard an explosion two
minutes later.
