HAL Hotel Service Charge INCREASE

Just returned from the HAL Oosterdam and was charged $11.00 a day for "hotel
service fee" All the brochures and documents say a $10 a day fee..For a
cruise line that was NO TIPPING REQUIRED to $10/day to $11 /day..without
telling you about the increase is sneaky and based on 1920 passengers on a 7
day cruise means an extra $13,440 ..WOW

The $11 is on their web site. Don't know about brochures since those
are passe. So are documents. $11 a day seems reasonable to me. And the
so called "No Tipping Required" policy of years ago was a joke since
tipping is never required! I am sure the cheapskates out there loved
that excuse to stiff the crew but a service charge is the fairest way
to ensure the entire crew is rewarded. You can still reduce that if
service is not to your expectations.
