It would be faster if you took I-15 south to just south of Provo, UT
[near Spanish Fork]. Then take US 89 south to US 6 East, to US 6/191
South, joining up with I-70 near Green River. Then take I-70 East for
about 25 miles, until 191 breaks off to the South, then on to Moab.
This route knocks about 100 miles off distance from the all-Interstate
route. You need to drive portions of this route at a slower speed,
but the reduced distance means your overall travel time is an hour or
so less.
