Reader Poll: How do you feel about the proposed changes to airport
security?

According to a story first reported by The Washington Post, the
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is considering a series
of changes to the way it screens airline passengers.

Among the proposed changes:

* Lifting the ban on razor blades, small knives, and other items
such as scissors, ice picks, and bows-and-arrows
* Ending routine checks for small explosives in shoes
* Limiting the number and scope of patdown searches
* Excluding federal judges, members of Congress, high-ranking
military officials, and others from screening

"The process is designed to stimulate creative thinking and challenge
conventional beliefs," said TSA spokesperson Mark Hatfield in a story
by the Associated Press. "In the end, it will allow us to work smarter
and better as we secure America's transportation system."
