Worldspan Cruise makes web debut
To Whom It May Concern:
We came across this information in the trades and thought it would be of interest to this newsgroup as well. Happy sailing, John Sisker, SHIP-TO-SHORE CRUISE AGENCY® (714) 536-3850 or toll free at (800) 724-6644 & (pagoo ID: 714.536.3850) www.shiptoshorecruise.com Worldspan is helping travel agencies build revenues through the new Worldspan Cruise online booking tool. By logging on to www.worldspancruise.com, Worldspan travel agents gain a real-time connection to leading cruise and tour operators through Viewdata booking systems and call centres worldwide for current availability, bookings and instant confirmations. Worldspan Cruise was developed to interface seamlessly with the renowned TravelTradeX cruise shopping and booking platform, which links to the internal reservation systems of an influential and growing line-up of cruise and tour operators. Worldspan Cruise is available free of charge to Worldspan travel agencies in the UK. "This excellent product is the result of intensive consultations with leading cruise and tour operators, trade associations, cruise specialist travel agents and TravelTradeX, which runs under the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA)," said Graham Nichols, Worldspan vice president and general manager - EMEAA. "By extending this superior industry-wide service to all Worldspan agents, we are helping our agency partners create new revenue streams, while supporting the industry's goal of continued innovation and investment in cruise marketing." According to the Passenger Shipping Association's (PSA) Annual Cruise Review last year, 1.25 million British holidaymakers were expected to take an ocean cruise by the end of 2006. The data represents a 17 percent increase and the most successful year in the UK cruise market since 2003. The Review also projected 1.5 million British travellers would take a cruise by 2008. Market demand is already being met with increased concentration of ships and passenger capacity targeted at the UK market. Currently, cruise lines and tour operators bookable through Worldspan Cruise include Celebrity Cruises, Cosmos, Cunard, Fred Olsen, Kuoni, Longwood Holidays, Ocean Villages Holidays, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International and Somak. Approximately 13 additional cruise lines and tour operators will be introduced through the system in the near future. Travel agents are free to shop and book cruises from any Internet location. No new hardware or software is required. Agents are greeted at www.worldspancruise.com by a graphical user interface (GUI) and easy, point-and-click functionality that lets them master the system in less than 15 minutes. Agents have the flexibility to shop by cruise line, tour operator or destination, and information is plentiful, providing cruise line details, product descriptions, complete itineraries, cabin photos, supplier specials and more. Travel agent commissions are paid directly by the cruise or tour operator. TravelTradeX is the tour-operator-facing part of the British Travel Agents' Accommodation Register, an industry joint venture which runs under ABTA, the British Hospitality Association (BHA) and National Tourist Boards, developing databases and booking systems for the UK travel industry. eTN (TravelWireNews) |

Worldspan Cruise makes web debut
This is the type of "Press Release" that means nothing to the readers and
hold no interest to them. This is something strictly for TA's who work for Worldspan, or at least it seems that way. The only reason it serves is to get the posting travel agents name out there and to me that is advertising. Enough already guys. Be like the other TA's here and help people and stop using this as your advertising venue. Of all the questions posted here, look and see how many replies John actually has. How many times does John actually help someone or give them some helpful advice? Rarely. He's too busy spamming this group with his crap. Pardon me, other people's crap. John steals other peoples work and says he got it from the trades. The charter of this NG says no advertising. John flaunts the rules, steals from people and wonders why people get upset with him. |

Worldspan Cruise makes web debut
Mike,
I really have no problem with the negative feedback from you, along with some of the others, for it seems that the more others like you choose to skip the topic at hand with the intent to just find fault and criticize instead, the more business is sent my way from those not wanting to get involved in this cat fight. In the past, I actually tried to answer some of the innuendos and speculations that seemingly kept popping up from a handful on this newsgroup. But I soon learned that this was a never ending task, and proved nothing constructive in return. In spite of those advocating double-standards, calling the kettle black, a do as I say but not what I do attitude, I quickly learned that all the futile and useless chatter from some of these hypocrites seems to be nothing more than the ability to toot their own horn, from that of a group of arm-chair attorneys, and of course thinking that they're experts on all related subjects. Yet, that's all well and good. They are welcome to believe what they want, as apparently are those who choose to follow their every word. However, one can still chose to read or not read any post that they want, which may or may no appeal to everyone. Likewise, I even have signed written documentation on just what can be circulated, in spite of those second-guessing everyone, thinking they somehow know better anyway. In addition, all my credentials and affiliations are, and has always been, right up front on my Website for all to see, including my disclaimers, of which I might add is not even as long or detailed of that on the Websites of others, who are the most vocal about mine. Go figure! Therefore, am I going to respond back to every negative comments from these reprobates on the ship of fools? For the most part, I think not. There is no point in it. For other than their ability to entirely skip the topic at hand, the bottom line is, they usually have nothing of real value to say. Yet, on the other hand, their actions keeps bringing me more clients, for it seems that there are many others can see right through their feeble attempts as well. Therefore, it is fine with me if the keep up their bad work! BTW..you didn't answer my question about how does heidi do her bathroom duties aboard a ship? Does she lift her leg and pee over the rail or do you carry a bowl with you and stick the bowl under her, when she squats down for a #2? All cruisers would be interested in how heidi handles her bathroom duties. Speak up dickie and let us know. JP..... |

How is this PR vs. the PR about someone appointed to Carnival Board

Worldspan Cruise makes web debut
Thus spake newbie :
How is this PR vs. the PR about someone appointed to Carnival Board posted by Ray? Why no one objects to that PR? Just wondering... This piece of work was aimed exclusively at TAs, hoping to get them to change agencies. It had nothing to do with the cruise industry other than advertising their new, in house booking engine. jim wrote: This is the type of "Press Release" that means nothing to the readers and hold no interest to them.
