Enilar, I've known nospam for may years and have had many happy
battles with him. There is one thing I can say: he knows what he is

Yes, when he understands the problem, but the disaster was too great this

Fine, so you've now got the old Pages on your new machine. So use it.

It's, as usual with "up"grades, missing functions I used regularly. I
presume there are the additional useless bells and whistles I have no use
for.

That depends on how stupid you are. I have a friend who has a twenty
year old Mac that holds some data that she thinks is invaluable. The
kink is, she forgot the password and can't get into it. For twenty years.

The same person, proud of her keyboard shortcuts, intended to blow away
a folder by Shift Del, eliminating the copy to the recycle bin.
Instead, she hit some more keys plus Shift Del and blew away the
entire branch _except_ the folder she had selected. Of course, she could
have recovered them with any number of file recovery tools but she
didn't know how.

_Nobody_ should ever do Shift Del. The recycle bin covers a multitude
of errors.

My personal favourite was always people who used the Trash/Recycle Bin
as storage for files they wanted out of the way, but still accessible,
with the inevitable disaster following.
