Default How much longer can I wait?

I have frequent flyer miles and want to get a ticket for the first
week of September. I will be attending a wedding on Sep 6 (Saturday),
but I am also considering visiting a friend prior to that, which would
make it a multi-stop trip. It would also be on Labor Day weekend.
But right now my friend does not know if he will be in town that
weekend. How much longer can I wait to buy my ticket, before those
seats reserved for FF mile rewards run out?

They "4run out" six+ months in advance, as yield management releases the token
seats for the popular flights.

As you get closer, seats open up when yield management sees emptier flights.

So it depends on the exact route. As a side point, I have not found a way to
do an open-jaw or multi-stop FF for the price of a single round trip.

Should you use the mailblocks package and expect a response from me,
you should preauthorize the dissensoftware.com domain.

I very rarely bother responding to challenge/response systems,
especially those from irresponsible companies.

Did you ever try calling the airline? That is how you do it on AA

AA will give you a FF open-jaw if you call them, without excess charges?

Of course, you will have to pay the telephone booking fee if you book it
by phone.
