I there!!!
I've been there two years ago. 1. I ask the same question and they say thats overcrowded everywhere, but there is karon beach for that. I stay at http://www.karonvilla.com/ 2. snorkeling/diving - go to phi-phi island. Fantastic!!! 3. if you can prepare to go everyday to the islands, like james bond island, phi-phi island... and make sure that you go to the "safari" its fantastic, don't forget to go to elephant show its lovely - Phuket Fantasea. 4. I stay at http://www.karonvilla.com/ nice and not expensive. Don't go to Patong!!! Its only for buyers... 5. make everyday one tour, and go to Bankok for at least 2 days, first flight in the morning and come back the day after in the last one (important) don't forget to visit flouting market 100 km from Bangkok and the PatPattong night market. "Pipson" wrote in message om... My wife and I are planning a 10-day vacation in Phuket, Thailand this winter to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary, and would be obliged if you could share your experiences on the following: 1. This is our first trip to Thailand. Is Phuket overcrowded in December? We are looking for a calm and quiet beach area. Any recommendations? 2. Can anyone without experience of snorkeling/diving try their hand at it? 3. Is a trip to the PhiPhi islands worth it? What are the costs involved and does one need to book the trip in advance? 4. Are budget accommodations available in Phuket during December, since we plan to use the hotel only for keeping our luggage and be out most of the time )? How soon does one need to book in advance? 5. How are the distances in Phuket? Any places where one hire a motorbike and zoom around town (as in, say Goa, India)? 6. Does Phuket have a Disneyland-ish kind of place? We've heard about Phuket Fantasea? Any good? Any other recommendations on fun things to do? Thanks in advance! ) Pipson and Uma. |

wrote: Calm and quiet are not words that I would associate with Phuket. It's a VERY touristy area. If you really want someplace that's quiet and calm, you might look at places a bit off the international tourism circuit. Phuket is the epicenter of Thai beach resorts. Of course you can have calm and quiet. Just avoid those pesky and nosiy singaporian tourists in June and December. |

We also did James Bond Island, which was a bit of a joke. The total seascape there, with mangrove and steep islands, is an adventure. [...] the stop over for a lovely seafood lunch was good. Lovely food? At Ko Pan Yi? Most astonishing! -- hilsen pl (peloda hos tiscali her i landet) http://huse-i-naestved.dk |
