I think quite a few airlines have done the same. Big question is how much AC
charged for the flight. Crews may have volunteered, but fuel didn't walk from
the underground tanks to the aircraft's tanks by itself :-), especially not in Anchorage.

I find it interesting that they would "bend the rules" and allow cargo in the
passenger cabin and even have netting that fit over the seats. Shows that
theer are people with imagination and ability to deviate from the "book" when
necessary. (a good thing).

I am surprised at the difference in cargo carried by AC's MD-11 (yes, AC now
has MD-11s used for cargo) and the weakling 340. 190,000 lbs vs 90,000 lbs.

Would the A340's outfitted cabin (toilets, galleys, seats) make up a large
portion of this 100,000lbs cargo capacity difference ? (Or could also include
windows if the MD-11 had its windows taken out).
