Flying from London to New York cheaply
Hi,
Any suggestions on how to fly from London to New York cheaply? I've looked at Expedia and the BA site, but i'm wondering if there's anything i might be missing. Are there really no low-cost carriers on Atlantic routes? I'm hoping to do this in early September, if that matters. Apologies if this is a really retarded question. I'm not much of a flyer. Many thanks, tom -- And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. |

Many thanks, tom You might want to consider Air India or Kuwait Airways who also fly LHR - JFK. Not the best of airlines but it looks like cost is your prime concern. Contact a local independent travel agent (one of the Worldchoice chain should be able to help) who has access to consolidator fares for the best prices. It is however, also worthwhile check some airline websites directly as they occasionally have special offers - try Air France, BA & KLM. Hope that this helps. Nigel. |

Yes, there are really no low-cost carriers across the Atlantic |

Flying from London to New York cheaply
Any suggestions on how to fly from London to New York cheaply? I've looked at Expedia and the BA site, but i'm wondering if there's anything i might be missing. Are there really no low-cost carriers on Atlantic routes? Short answer: there really aren't. If you're very price sensitive, US Airways flies from Dublin to Philadelphia for US$388 round trip, or to Boston (via Philadelphia) for $363 RT. The Greyhound bus from either Boston or Phila to NYC is $34 if you buy tickets three days ahead online, $40 otherwise. Ryanair has 1 P plus tax flights from London to Dublin. If that seems like too much hassle, I'd just pay the $600. R's, John |

Yes there are. They are called "charter airlines". There is number of them in Canada, so there should also be a number of them in the USA. Not any more. Air Transat has pretty cheap flights to Toronto, but then you have to get to New York. |

Are there really no low-cost carriers on Atlantic routes? Check out Freddie Laker's SkyTrain...also you can get walk - up seats at the very last minute on British Airways, these seats go for around a 100 quid each way. -- Best Greg |
