French/American/Italian slant. Good wine list.
Oh, and it was the food. Service is great, ambience is fine, but
it's actually upstairs in a little professional office building.
But it's a fantastic place.

Down the scale a bit is Blue Bistro on Mills in Orlando. Good food,
quirky ambience, nominal service, nominally priced. Wine list could
be punched up a bit.

Maison e Jardin in Altamonte Springs is an oldie but a goody.
A bit stuffy and the menu is becoming a tad dated. The wine list
is phenominal and priced better than most.

Antonio's is good, up in Maitland. You get your choice on atmosphere.
Downstairs is informal and has take out. You can sit in or outside.
Really nice part is that you can get much of the same food from the
more formal upstairs. Price won't change much but you can order
simplier dishes as well. You can also go in the wineshop and get
a good bottle of wine. yeah, there's a corkage fee. You'll still
do better than off the list.

Restaurant K in College Park/Orlando is very good food. They know
what it's worth, but the keep the prices in the fairly reasonable
category. I think their wine list doesn't match the quality of their
menu. You can sit outside too. The service borders on the stuffy
sometimes but I suspect they are catering to their clientele.

As such, I guess I require that a restaurant above all have good
food. Second, I want a good variety and well priced wine list.
Ambience is third followed (actually inseparable a bit from) by
service. A good example is Manuel's On The 28th in downtown Orlando.
Fantastic decor and ambience not to mention impecible service. However,
the food is moderately good, sometimes more moderate than others.
It's priced through the roof, and the wine list is worse. I've
been there twice and it maybe a long time before I return, which is
too bad because it's a beautiful place.
