Amputee in Manhattan want to kill some time
I'm a 70 year old amputee who is going on a church sponsored bus trip to NY
City. We should arrive Wednesday 12/10/03 about 10:00AM around 43rd & Broadway. Where can I go - not too far e.g. by cab-to kill 3 hours before the show "Mama Mia" which at starts 2:00PM in the Wintergarden Theater (51st & Broadway). I can walk but only for a few streets without resting for a few minutes. Any other suggestions for dinner after the show would be appreciated. Please e-mail me at . |

If the weather is nice, I would suggest Central Park. If not, the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Both have plentiful places to sit and are ideal for visits of a few hours. There is a restaurant for lunch inside the museum and there are food vendors in the park. I'll leave the after-show restaurant suggestions to others. Barbara |

Amputee in Manhattan want to kill some time

Three hours is not enough time for either an off and on bus tour or Circle Line. Taxing to a good restaurant is a good idea, or taxi to 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue where you will find Bryant Park, a sophisticaled urban park smack in the middle of the high rises. Have some lunch and watch New Yorkers doing the same on the grass or at little tables. Last time I was there, they'd also brought the library out into the park, as it were, with a few shelves of books available for reading while sitting out there. For the digitally-inclined, there is free high-speed Wifi access to the internet as well. miguel -- Hit The Road!
