Default DPRK (North Korea)

I went to the DPRK a few months ago. It's a place which is difficult to
put into words, really much easier to put into pictures. For those who
are interested I've added some pictures to my web-page:

That's good stuff. For quite some time I've wanted to go to North Korea.
A friend of mine went there many years ago and said it was just
fascinating.

I particularly like the 'Pyongyang Traffic Light';
very amusing!

I didn't even know one could go to North Korea. What is involved in that?
Any countries banned from going?

I think it's quite difficult for Americans at present, and South
Koreans have limited options, but AFAIK all else who can afford it are
welcome.

Can you publish more of those?
I love them.

Most people should not have any problems going to the DPRK.

Officially US citizens and South Koreans are not granted visas. Though, when I
picked up my visa to the DPRK in Beijing I met a travel agent who said she was
fixing visas for Americans. She even showed me a stack of 10-15 US passports
which she was taking to the DPRK embassy.

For those who're not from the USA or South Korea there are many travel-agencies
who arrange trips to the DPRK. I went through VNC in Holland, URL:
http://www.vnc.nl/

Koryo Tours also seems to be a serious operator: http://www.koryotours.com/

It is also possible to do it directly through the official DPRK web-site at:
http://www.korea-dpr.com/

The latter option is probably not recommendable since there's not much money to
be saved, and you'll have to deal with all the red-tape yourself.

Journalists can not apply for tourist visas.
