Sochi elected the XXII Olympic Winter Games in 2014

That's right, Sochi - on the Black Sea, where :- "The resort has a warm climate, averaging +7 °C (44.6 °F) in January and February, and boasts many sanatoria and mineral baths. There are also tea plantations, the most northerly in Europe. Sochi attracts vacation-goers with its subtropical vegetation, numerous parks, monuments, and extravagant Stalinist architecture". Have I missed something here? Has the IOC missed something here? Gerry
