My pet peeve is the cruise line's failure to enforce their own rules. I
think if they enforced stated rules, the majority of these pet peeves would
be non-issues.

How about the photographers set up all over the ship. The set-ups and
the
lines waiting to have their pictures done block the flow of traffic.
This
is particularly bad when a person is in a wheelchair.

I would have to agree with Tobie...It is annoying to have photographers
block your way after you have processed aboard, on exit of the dining room
and while trying to disembark at ports. It is especially annoying and a
waste of time and photographic materials when you do not intend to purchase
the photos...

Second peeve is *pokes* at the buffet line who hold up the entire line
trying to decide what they want...they at least should tell the person (s)
behind them to pass and go ahead of them.

After art auction crud being scattered all over the common areas of the
ship, I have to agree with you and Tobie, Jean.

They tend to get out of my way when I want them to. I'm 6'3" so that
might have something to do with it. G

The regimentation. I know a lot of it is necessary when dealing with
numbers of people but I find it annoying.

My pet peeve: obnoxious cruise directors. Loud. Unfunny. "On" all
the time. Did I say loud?

Pet Peeves...

1) Cruise lines that schedule Bingo in the main show lounge before every
show so you have to sit through that while waiting... or get there early
because the Bingo players have the best seats.

2) "Sidewalk Sales" where they drag all the store's merchandise out into the
passageways for a sale. Half a billion $$$ for a ship and they turn it into
a flea market.

3) Maitre 'ds who think they are entertainers and insist on talking and
making announcements.

4) Cruise Lines who think that the dining room staff are entertainers. I
would rather have my coffee and dessert after dinner without sitting through
another performance of the Macarena.

Sheesh... I am beginning to sound like a curmudgeon.

Standing in line.

That's my biggest peeve for not cruising too.

The only one that is specific to cruising is the ding ding ding from
the casino. A VERY irritating noise.

NOT to those sitting at the machines making that sound!!!!
Why would you be annoyed?...Surely you don't spend all your time outside the

Why do you think I should not be annoyed? If one is NOT sitting at
the machines, that is an annoying sound. Does my being annoyed bother
you? Why? Does it infringe on your right to sit at those machines?
Does it make you feel guilty or something? Can't I say that something
annoys me without you telling me that I shouldn't be bothered? Why
not?

casino..It is on only one deck midship usually...with the ship's size and so
many other places to go, it would have to be your choice to be near it!

I was sitting in the atrium doing wireless internet on my laptop (I
couldn't get the wireless in my cabin). And the casino was at the top
of the atrium and the sound echoed around the atrium. If I had gone
to the internet cafe (up two levels and at the other end of the ship),
it would have been colder and farther to go. That was my choice.
Atrium or internet cafe (which was next to the main dining room), and
I always froze in the internet cafe, plus the casino wasn't so far
from that. (This was a smaller ship.)

In the other case the casino was near the little bar where we had the
trivia and we not only had the ding ding ding, we also had the smoke..
At first I thought someone was tuning a piano.

It is an annoying noise.
