Utah- Over rated?

Let me understand this: You intentionally chose to visit the part

Zion,Bryce,Capitol Reed,Canyonlands and monument valley have some of the
most spectacular scenary I have ever seen.
Funny thing you say about rocks though.
We were in Arches national park a few years ago and happened to meet a
senior couple. They spoke to us about where we were from and were
surprised that we flew so far to see Utah. It was our turn to inquire
about them. The lady goes like oh! "we just live about 20 miles from
here and have lived here for 30 years. Our neighbours told us that
there were these big rocks around here and we came to see them"
Really I was at a loss for words as we went our separate ways.

I thought there would be something other than just rocks.

Not unusual. Many New Yorkers have never been to the Statue of Liberty.

You have a problem with Webtv?

maybe it was because those people didn't have to drive anywhere to see
rocks, thats all they have in Utah.

You are quite right. Familiarity breeds contempt I guess. I have seen
such cases at serveral places but its surprising every time.
