Cambodia - 25th anniversary 7th January
Chanrithy Him, author of the excellent When Broken Glass Floats, an
absorbing insight into her childhood under the murderous Khmer Rouge, has reminded me that tomorrow, January 7th is the 25th anniversary of the Khmer Rouge being overthrown in Cambodia. They were responsible for the deaths of 1.7 million Cambodians and despite attempts by the international community, their leaders remain free and without trial in Cambodia. To mark this anniversary, she has been interviewed by the BBC World Service radio programme, The World Today, alongwith Brad Adams of the Human Rights Asia Division in New York.
