Default Jet Blue attempting 'soft landing?"

On TV now - Jet Blue attempting to land with (possible) damaged landing
gear.

Fox feed from KABC, other stations may be carrying the feed

It is called "Soft Field Landing". Not a soft landing. What that
means is to fly that airplane like it would land on a "soft field" --
dirt or gravel runway. That is to keep the nose gear up as long as
possible during the landing roll.
