I;'d wager something miniscule like the sub 10,000 in Las vegas and Clark county at the same time. |

Roughly 600,000 for Arizona. In 1950 Phoenix was about 107,000 much more settled than NV was at that time then. I don't think NV was even 100,000? |

"Sarah Banick" climbed onto an orange
crate and shouted: There was never an established pattern for capital cities. They've mostly evolved as their states' economic activities evolved. By the way, land grant state colleges were also founded in "rural cities." Land grant universities were often founded near the geographic center of the state, whether there was a city there or not. This sometimes gives rise to jokes that the universities are equally remote from all parts of the state. -- "Dude, we totally forgot our slogan..." ~ Medical Marijuana Association Billboard |

Tucson, where you live, woulda been missed with a blink; Phoenix two blinks. __________________________________________________ ___________ A San Franciscan who's visited 49 of 50 US states http://geocities.com/dancefest/ http://geocities.com/iconoc/ ICQ: http://wwp.mirabilis.com/19098103 IClast at SFbay Net |
