"Dennis P. That's one place where you will find a lot of Auto xmission in the UK. Nearly all urban buses are autos. |

Those of us who drive in San Francisco probably do more downshifting than the vast majority of the world's drivers. We're quite expert at it. As I previously said, I've never had to replace a clutch in any of my several sticks and I've never had a repair of any kind to any of the automatic transmissions I've owned. I consistently downshift on hills and usually when getting off a freeway. As I commented to Carmen, you can hear 'em but y'can't feel 'em. I'm proud that people comment on the smoothness of my driving as they've been doing for many decades. No, I don't drive slowly but I do stop slowly if the traffic allows. My new car (a year old today) has four-wheel disk brakes. They're terrific! Quiet, smooth, and very effective. __________________________________________________ ___________ A San Franciscan in 47.452 mile² San Francisco http://geocities.com/dancefest/ http://geocities.com/iconoc/ ICQ: http://wwp.mirabilis.com/19098103 IClast at SFbay Net |
