Default travel - tokyo - 10-hour layover - find a guide

Hello --

Please pardon if this is a duplicate posting.

We have 10 hours between flights, arriving 0800, departing 1820.
Is it feasible to find a guide to meet us at Narita and accompany us into Tokyo, show us around, and then accompany us back to Narita or at least put us on the correct train for Narita?

Can anyone suggest an agency to provide such a guide?
Is there a student organization perhaps, that has English-speaking members who serve as guides?
Can you state what a reasonable charge for such a service would be?

Thanks for any information

You can easily get into Tokyo on your own, without any knowledge of Japanese
language. In Tokyo there is a good underground system with directions in
English. Easy to get from A to B.

With 10 hours between flights, you have about 5-6 hours available net for
Tokyo. I would just get into town and choose one area to explore, or a couple
of places to visit.

In Seoul (Korea) there is a system of voluntary guides, but I haven't heard of
anything comparable in Japan. But you might try contacting a local travel
agency, if you really want to have a guide.

Is this your first time in Tokyo?

Have a look at my trip report to Tokyo:

Hello Alfred --

Thank you for the information and encouragement, and for the link to your trip report.

It will be our first trip to Tokyo. I have long thought that Tokyo would be too difficult to visit on my own, but that attitude is fading.

Regards,

Larry
