PA: Valley Forge Area - Foliage?
Hi, I'm curious about the foliage in the Valley Forge Area of Pennsylvania.
Would like to take a day trip down there from NYC and was wondering if it looks like the Peak is very close and how much color there is right about now. Thanks |

Valley Forge is mostly open fields with revolution era buildings and artifacts. A better place in PA would be in the Pocono Mountains, but New York State has good areas where you can see fall foliage too, such as the Catskill Mountains. |

Thanks and yup, I'm well familiar with NY and other areas. I simply had my own reasons for asking about Valley Forge specifically. |

Some portions of which are in bear country. Be sure to read any roadside signs. If the unlikelihood that you should see a cub, resist the urge to pet him no matter how cute. Mom is nearby and out of sight. Better you might consider a ride through Amish country. Bird-In-Hand, Intercourse, Paradise and others have farmland in valleys nestled between mountains. Now that the major tourist season is over, the local "plain folk" are a bit more friendly. If you ask one of the men, or women I'm sure they can direct you to some nice views. With the men, I find a compliment on their horse or carriage is usually a good ice breaker. -- ________ To email me, Edit "blog" from my email address. Brian M.
