Pacific Blue Airlines Starts Feb 01 2004
September 16, 7:42 pm ET WELLINGTON (Dow Jones)--Virgin Blue said
Wednesday it will start services between Australia and New Zealand from February 1 next year. The trans Tasman airline will be called Pacific Blue Airlines and be based in the South Island city of Christchurch, Virgin Blue said in a statement. Daily flights will initially be from Christchurch to Brisbane but there are plans to expand the services to cover other key New Zealand and Australian ports. As an introductory offer, thousands of seats will be offered at a special price of NZ$99 plus taxes and surcharges. "The new low fare carrier will follow the lead of its sister airline, Virgin Blue, offering heavily reduced airfares and high quality customer service with exceptional on time performance," Virgin Blue said. After the launch special is finished, Pacific Blue will be offering "every day" low fares from NZ$189 and "fully flexible walk-up fares" of NZ$349. #### |
