Lodging and parking in NYC or near NYC

Something clean and not to complicated to get to by car. Last time I went to NYC I stayed in the Holiday Inn which is actually across the river in Fort Lee. Free parking, but you have getting into Manhattan to consider, and the tolls on the bridge if going by Taxi.
