You know what I find it difficult to do here on this newsgroup? TO TAKE SIDES.

I realize that we all have our quirks and most definitely we are not all in
agreement. And, why should we be?

But, what I find disheartening is that in my few years visiting here, I've
taking a liking to many of the regular posters and some who only chat now and
then...but by the sound of it, those same folks might as well be lepers
according to others.

When someone speaks crappily about Jean, for instance...am I missing something?
I have found her to be someone my mom's age who I can easily trade jokes back
and forth with and, REALLY, people, she's been an all-around nice lady, to me,
at least.

And, Karen...I've enjoyed her dry humor and knowledge about cruising, as well
as her latest news about her new Corgi. No, she and Jean aren't alike in
personalities, but that doesn't mean I can't like them for the traits each one
has to offer.

Sunny, too, has been a wonderful person, who has e-mailed privately about some
issues concerning one of my grown daughters. I was very touched. I enjoy what
she has to share here.

Becca and Jo-Ann have given me many hours of laughs and shared what they know
and like about cruises. I thank them for being here, as well.

That goes for Tom K., Ben, Warren, Lloyd, Ray and all the other guys and gals
who post here with their own opinions and quirks. No matter how different you
are from one another, you still have one thing in common: CRUISING. And, many
of you are friends beyond that, as a result of this common bond.

You know, many of you might ask me why, but I have to admit, I even get a kick
out of some of Michelle's remarks. NOT the nasty or downright means ones, mind
you! I honestly think that under all that crustiness, she is a person with a
heart and soul. I'm not quite certain why she chooses to share herself in this
way, but I've spoken to her via e-mail a number of times in the past and this
hard-core stuff didn't come out there. Definitely cleaning up her act would win
more points with me. :-)

I feel sometimes like I should be chastised by one if I dared to speak to
another, Reminiscent of kindergarten or junior high.

I'm going to remain neutral and continue to choose who I "hang out with" here
and try not to let others sway me either way. If someone really hurts another
person I admire here, I might let them know I'm not thrilled with their
behavior, but if people choose to put up their dukes and fight it out among
themselves, so be it. I certainly don't want to be the one to referee or break
up the fight Just don't count me to choose sides.

Well said, Lindsay. ....How many times have we seen posters express an
opinion like: "...I never did care for the food, shows, casinos,
rooms, clothes, pools etc. etc.. on the XX lines. ...And how many
times have we seen a response like: " Well that just goes to show the
%sshole that you are...."

I love hearing what cruisers have to say about a particular cruise or
cruise lines --- whether I agree with what they have to say or not. ...I
can't understand why some individuals find it impossible to respond to a
post, unless they throw in a few personal remarks. ...Jon
