Not much walking at all. You can be dropped off infront of the terminal and
walk aboard. If you need a wheelchair it can be provided. Have fun! Happy Cruisin' Mark Home Port: Monmouth County,NJ. |

You will get out of your vehicle right in front of the terminal. When were
last there, we had to walk 1/2 the length of the ship to embark after check-in, since the terminal was at the end of the ship. But I wouldn't call it a long walk. This is a great port if you live within driving distance. -- Greg lid (Remove the '.invalid' twice to send Email) wrote in message ... wrote Ha anyone ever gone out of Philly on a cruise if so, Is there a lot of walking to get into the terminal and the ship? Take a look at http://www.cruisephilly.com/ There are shuttle busses from the parking areas, but the walk from the check-in counter to the ship can be a bit tiring for some people because of the slope of the walkway. They usually have plenty of wheelchairs to help those who need it. -- George in PA http://www.countryside-travel.com r.t.c. The charge is $10 per day for the "secure" parking area. It is a barely
maintained surface lot. There is a tent type building for luggage check in. 500 ft. from parking. Then you board a shuttle bus to cruise check in. You are delivered to the door. Check in to the gangway involves another 500 ft., an elevator or escalator, and another 500 feet to the gangway. On my check in, the luggage check in was very disorganized and no one could tell you what line was for what. Once you got past that, the rest was a breeze. Mike in Ohio wrote in message ... Are there any inexpensive techniques to avoid high parking fees -- e.g. when
I cruise out of Boston I stay the prior night at the Holiday Inn Express , park my car there for free -- they shuttle me back & forth to the cruise ship and, at cruises end, we get in the car & come home -- only cost is the minimal cost of the motel, which I would get anyway --- any similar stategies for Phila??? My wife & I are going to Bermuda on June 26th on the Horizon -- this is something I've got to address---thanks in advance Bill Wright wrote in message ... I have clients on the May 6 Rotterdam too!
The philly port is easy to get in and check in but there is considerable walking to get to the ship. Susette Join us on our Annual Group Cruise 04Dec04 Jewel of the Seas! Check out our website: www.cruiseoutlets.com |

Hi Susette,
I am surprised by your post. I recall being dropped off directly across from the terminal building. I would say that at very most, it may have been a 50 yard walk. I guess people's idea of what considerable is varies greatly. PS. Buses pulled up alongside the building. They were even closer. Happy Cruisin' Mark Home Port: Monmouth County,NJ. |
