Robert,

I'm sure you will get much more good advice here. Meanwhile,
have a look at http://www.michna.com/kenya.htm , particularly at
the travel preparations chapter.

The page is geared towards people who don't use a packaged tour,
but it still contains useful information for every traveller to
east Africa.

Dear Robert,
Do you have a specific place you would like to visit? what would you like to do while you are there? September is during the dry period in Kenya. There are many things one can do in Kenya and the variety of accommodation is wide. Kenya is a destination of many things- relaxation, adventure, culture, plenty of wildlife; a friendly people to meet and make friends.

Generally I would advise you to concentrate on the beautiful countryside, meet real people and have fun. Once you have decided what to do, get in touch and we see if we can come up with something. I deal with tours to East Africa.
