Default Qantas and Australian Donestic services to go all e-ticket

From a travel trade press release -

Qantas Mandatory Electronic Tickets (E-Ticket) 01 April
2004
Qantas and Australian Airlines are introducing a policy of
mandatory E-Tickets on their domestic services, with effect from 01
July
2004.

We believe that this will enhance our customers travelling
experience by simplifying the travelling process whilst reducing the
significant internal costs associated with paper tickets. The change
is also
designed to offer greater convenience and flexibility to you and your
customers and eliminate paper transactions.

Since September 2003 Qantas has expanded the availability
of
E-Ticket facilities to include flights for:
a.. Unaccompanied Minors
b.. Extra Seats sold to passengers
c.. Open Segments
d.. Waitlist Segments
e.. Australian Airlines

Effective 01 July, 2004 paper tickets issued for Qantas
and
Australian Airlines E-Ticket eligible domestic itineraries will be
issued
with an Agent Debit Memo (ADM) of AUD55 (inclusive of GST) per ticket
issued. The policy will apply to point of sale Australia for all
domestic
tickets issued on or after 01 July 2004.
