Default Hotel recommendations/comments in OZ

Need hotels in the following locations for a April-May 05 visit.

Adelaide - TA recommended the Rydges South Park Adelaide, Superior
Room. Will not have a car - so is this centrally located? Good Value?
Do we need the Superior Room?

Port Douglas - TA Recommended the Bay Villas Resort - 1BDRM Apartment -
Will have a car, but don't want to drive a long ways to get to
everything.

Cape Tribulation - Might take one night off from Port Douglas and drive
to and stay here. Recommendations?

Sydney - The Menzies Sydney Accor - Standard Room - Will not have a car
- so is this centrally located? Good Value? Clean?

As I posted only a week or so ago, Menzies in Sydney is very central, being
located at Wynyard underground railway station and easy walking from all
attractions.

Rydges in Adelaide is OK too, but some walking to centre of city.

Both hotels are good quality.

We recently stayed at the Meridian in Port Douglas - relatively new,
clean and comfortable, and a nice pool. The last time we were in Port
was about three years ago, and this wasn't there, so it must be fairly
recent.
