Default Most Memorable Dining Experience

This question does not pertain to any one place but I wanted to ask it
anyway. Where have you eaten that left you with the most pleasant
memory? It doesn't have to be fancy, expensive or the classiest. Just
good food, good atmopshere and beautiful views perhaps?

It wasn't fancy. It wasn't expensive. It had no view at all --- but the

Shrimp Risotto and the atmosphere will remain a high point in my restaurant
recollections.

It was in Sorrento, Italy, down a narrow alley, via Pieta, off the Southeast
corner of the Town Piazza and then turn left into another even narrower very
short, blind alley with 'La Stalla'.at the end. The atmosphere, the food,
the service and the music was beyond comparison.

We dined there twice and on ouir return looked forward to a third visit only
to find that it is closed on Wednesdays and we had a plane to catch in Rome
on Thursday. Dinner, whatever it was, on that Wednesday night was just for
nourishment and eaten with a complete lack of interest.

Mine was classy, expensive (very), and fancy. And exotic.

This was in Kenya, at a tent camp on the edge of Ngurraman
Escarpment. There were beautiful views over the edge, but not
from the food test. When we entered the test for dinner ...
there were guards to prevent us from looking in beforehand ...
we discovered that the china was real Wedgwood. The forks
weighed like a pound apiece ... solid silver. All the serving plates
were solid, sparkling white silver. The tablecloth was actually
linen. We were served a delicious 7 course dinner of fancy
French food that, while not exactly the best I have had, was
far, far superior to anything else I have had in Africa,
even at fancy hotels. The host was Richard Leaky.

My goodness, very impressive. So far, I haven't experienced anything
close to that. Memorable for me has been simple most of the time, for
instance the time we had a pic nic on the side of the Mississippi
outside of Hannibal, Missouri, or eating a tomato sandwich while parked
at the Badlands. Also, memorable for me was eating in the Skylon Tower
at Niagara Falls. Also, a very memorable meal was trying Caviar for the
first time at the restuarant in Jensen Beach that was once owned by
Frances Langford. Always memorable is the meal we have at Tin City in
Naples, Florida.
