Default Wearing a money belt through customs.

Hi all,
Thanks to all who answered my earlier questions.
My trip to the Philippines, via Abu Dhabi, is next week.

What I am wondering, is that I have bought a money belt to wear under my
cloths,
can I only wear it with my money in after I arrive in the Philippines?
Or can I wear it through the checks at Heathrow and Abu Dhabi.
Thanks,
Mick.

Abudhabi won't notice.

Security checks there are best described as superficial.

Heathrow varies a bit.

Once the scanner spotted a couple of mosquito repellent wipes in foil
envelopes in my pocket, the next time they managed to miss a pair of
scissors I'd forgotten...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.

You don't need to worry about wearing it while going through customs,
its the various security checkpoints that might be more concerned
about it. Just wear it anyway. The worst that can happen is they might
ask you to take it off and put it through the scanner separately.

At Heathrow it seems to depend also on the mood of the security officers.
In April I witnessed them telling an elderly Thai lady that her moneybelt
was classed as an item of hand luggage, and she couldn't have it _and_ her
handbag.
Fortunately she was able to fit the belt into her handbag and that seemed to
satisfy them.
