Hurghada to Cairo

Hi,



Anyone tried to take the trip from Hurghada to Cairo on there owe?



Our travel agency have a 2 days trip to Cairo at 200 euro - bud 2*5 hours in
a bus, visit a bazaar, eat lunch on a riverboat and pay 200 euro - no
thanks.



I have only a week in Hurghada and would like to relax, snorkel and dive -
and spend a single day in Cairo. Bud our travel agency don't have a single
day trip.



The alternatives:



- Fly from Hurghada to Cairo (EgyptAirs Danish agent told me the price - if
I book the flight from Danmark - 200 euro)



- Take to local tourist bus



- Take to train (from Luxer?)

- Or ????



Any good ideas?

Hi!

You can take a bus from Hurghada Downtown to Cairo Turguman bus station. It
takes about 6-7 hours to get there. A year ago it cost me about 45 LE one-
way. The bus was air-conditioned and the seats were OK even for me (I'm 187
cm tall). The disadvantages are the loud Egyptian films all the way and the
scarcity of the pee stops, as well as the reckless speed and frequent ID
checks (about 1 per hour). I would say, it's not enjoyable, but feasible.
