Default Vacation travel to Europe is up 7% to 9% so far this year

Advance bookings for vacations to Europe are up by 7% to 9% and are
expected to go higher as we get more into the season.

Since we promote rail passes & tickets in European countries we find
it interesting that far more people this year are buying individual
rail tickets in Italy and France then rail passes. Nobody in the
industry is quite sure why this is happening.

The exception to this is Switzerland where Swiss Rail Passes always
out sell train tickets...even the locals use rail passes. Buying a
Swiss Pass from the Swiss rail companies like our http://SwissRailPasses
(and others) is such a bargain because it lets you travel not only on
trains but also the lake steamers (boats) and buses plus gives you
entrance to over 400 museums all at no extra cost.

Where as with the Eurail pass for Switzerland it is only good for
travel on certain trains. No boats No buses No museums.

You will get the best price on a rail pass by buying it online.
Travel agents have the ability to add additional profit into the price
of the ticket without having it show.

Up until a couple years ago, car rentals in Europe were quite
popular. But this year like last, the prices of car rentals and gas
have gone through the roof. If you live or have connections in the
larger European cities you can still find reasonable price day-rental
cars but these are not generally available outside the local areas.

Remember September and October are two of the best months to travel in
Europe.
