Default Caribbean Celebration cruise time share con

Do your homework on time shares before signing up for this 'free
cruise'. You will have to go through a timeshare sales pitch at every
motel stop and another at Port Palm Beach before boarding the ship.

The sales person at the trade show booth where I completed the
'ballot' and those doing the bookings mis-representation what was
required to get the 'free cruise'. You have to report to the local
Welcome Centre in Fort Lauderdale and pick up your meal vouchers and
arrange for the first timeshare tour which was a 20 minute drive away.
You'll also be paying extra taxes, etc. so the cruise, motels and car
rentals aren't exactly free.

Instead of one hour at Fort Lauderdale, we were subjected to 4 hours
of a sales tour and pitch that was the similar to those at a used car
dealership. The sales staff wasn't completely forthcoming with the
additional costs (maintenance fees) and as we resisted the price
dropped by 50% with extra weeks thrown in. By the way, the amount you
pay determines which weeks are available to you, so your dates for
using your timeshare are limited.

At Port Palm Beach, we got another 3 hour pitch with the incentive
that we would get $50 of coupons for the cruise. At that point we
were wiser to the game and got the price down even further with extra
weeks by offering to pay cash. We still didn't buy.

After the cruise we went the Welcome Centre in Orlando. We assumed
that we were done with the timeshares and we would be staying at the
Ramada Inn where the Welcome Centre is located which is right beside
Disney World. Not so. The Ramada we were going to was 25 minutes
away and we would have to go throught YET ANOTHER BLOODY TIMESHARE
SPEIL!!! That was the final straw. I told the guy that the whole
thing was a con and left. Motels are cheap in Orlando in February and
I decided that I'd rather go somewhere else and spend the day doing
something other than saying NO, NO, NO, to another salesman.

Once again, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. There are lots of timeshares available
for sale directly from the owners and pick one where you are
interested in going.

By the way, the cruise was great but next time we'll just pay for it
with no timeshare sales crap.
