Default How to say Xunantunich

We're wanting to do the Xunantunich tour in Belize next month through NCL.
With as backwards as NCL is with their out of date website (you can't
personalize ANYTHING ACK!) I'll be booking it once onboard. I think mailing
in a form is a bit much to book an excursion.

So I'll be asking for it in person...

How do you pronounce Xunantunich?

I've been saying it as Zoo-NAN-t'nich with the accent on the "nan"

Anyone know for sure?

Thanx

LES!

Sorry about that I meant to post it as a reply. The correct
pronunciation is Shoo-nan-Tun-itch, with the emphasis on shoo and tun.
I hope you have a wonderful time!

Yep the reply is the correct way to pronounce. It is a very good Castillo, I
have no doubt that they will eventually close it from access to the top at
some point, health and safety a tad lax, as they have done in the Yuckatan
so enjoy the views from the top while you can absolutely breathtaking.
