Default Spotting in Gran Canaria (GCLP)

Hi!

I am going to Las Palmas / Gran Canaria for a vacation. As an aviation
enthusiast I would like to know about spotting and photographing in
Las Palmas / Gran Canaria airport.

What is the general attitude towards spotters/aircraft photographers
there after the tragic events of Madrid? I have heard that the Spanish
authorities have increased the level of security but does it make any
practical difference to spotting if the basic rules (e.g. not entering
the prohibited areas, not crossing the fences, not photographing
military installations) are obeyed?

I would like to receive tips about good places to take pictures there.
When I looked through the aerial photos of GCLP available in
airliners.net I noticed that there are roads and fields in the
southern end of the airport area. Is it possible to go there to take
pictures or is it prohibited?

Greetings from Finland,
Mikko Tyni
