Do you have a ****ING problem with freedom of expression?

No. But having the sense to understand a topic and stay on it is good,
too.

If you expect that, in UseNet, you will be continually disappointed. I
guarantee it.

I found this group hoping to find discussion items/posts about the
title "rec.travel.usa-canada" but somehow most of the stuff being put
on this site is 'adult content' which IMO should not be posted here.
So my question is- Does anybody 'moderate' this group for content of
the postings before they are published?

When folks here suggest you use a real newsreader like Outlook,
Outlook Express, Eudora, or Mozilla Thunderbird (the last one is my
favorite) these newsreaders only work if your IP supports Usenet
Newsgroups and has a news server. If your IP does not support
newsgroups, google or use your favorite search engine to pull up "free
news server", "free newsgroups" or some variation,

Additionally, as others may have told you, a majority of Usenet
Newsgroups are unmoderated. That includes this newsgroup. When any
unmoderated-newsgroup is started a charter is written up. These are not
written rules. It expected that the user familiarize his/herself with
the charter and self-police. If you'd prefer a moderated forum, you
can probably use your favorite search engine to pull-up any number of
web based discussion forums that *are* moderated.

Alternatively, by using a "real" newsreader, you can make custom filters
to block or filter out undesirable or unwanted newsgroup articles.
