We are older (almost 48) but were there with children (aged 17, 18, and 25) which allowed us to get away with the age restriction, which the CVJM also followed. The place is very clean and comfortable, has a good breakfast, and is within walking distance of the Alstadt and the train station. It is in a neighborhood with a couple of strip clubs (including next door) but it (the neighborhood) is too clean to have a sleazy feel. I had no problems with letting our daughters who were plenty old enough, to be more or less on their own. On weekends they have a little club with beer, wine and snacks in the lobby. Good security, if that matters to you. You don't get into the sleeping area unless you are staying there. Since a friend of mine took a group to another hostel in Munich and a number of them were victims of theft, this makes a difference to me (though I cannot say I think this is a real problem in Munich; it can happen anywhere) It is a little bit antiseptic actually, and there is not much space for just hanging out with other folks from around the world, less than in a typical Youth Hostel. But it was very nice for me and my family, and we spent five nights there. Julie -- Julie ********** Check out my Travel Pages (non-commercial) at http://www.dragonsholm.org/travel.htm |
